Les techniciens mus\u00e9ographes ajustent les \u00e9clairages sur la secr\u00e8te beaut\u00e9 des \u0153uvres, encore dissimul\u00e9es sous les voiles blancs\u00a0; les installateurs d\u00e9posent les derniers cadres avec pr\u00e9caution et le charg\u00e9 de production v\u00e9rifie les cartels.<br \/>\nV\u00e9ritable cheffe d\u2019orchestre, Val\u00e9rie Zaleski est la commissaire de l\u2019exposition. Elle nous accueille chaleureusement et nous invite \u00e0 une visite en avant-premi\u00e8re.<br \/>\n\u00ab\u00a0L\u2019\u0153uvre de T\u2019ang Haywen est unique, confie-t-elle, car elle incarne la rencontre de deux mondes, l\u2019Orient et l\u2019Occident. L\u2019artiste arrive en France en\u00a01948. Il a 21\u00a0ans et il vient \u00e9tudier la m\u00e9decine. Mais tr\u00e8s vite, il pr\u00e9f\u00e8re suivre les cours de l\u2019acad\u00e9mie de la Grande-Chaumi\u00e8re, l\u2019un des grands foyers de la vie artistique \u00e0 Montparnasse. Form\u00e9 initialement par son grand-p\u00e8re \u00e0 la calligraphie, il \u00e9tudie l\u2019art occidental acad\u00e9mique, visite les mus\u00e9es parisiens, dont le mus\u00e9e Guimet. Ses premi\u00e8res \u0153uvres sont des \u00e9tudes figuratives \u00e0 l\u2019aquarelle et \u00e0 la gouache. Si elles refl\u00e8tent l\u2019apport de cet apprentissage parisien, elles manifestent d\u00e9j\u00e0 un tropisme vers la peinture chinoise. Sur la pens\u00e9e de ce peintre du d\u00e9but de la dynastie Qing se fonde le geste s\u00fbr et rapide de T\u2019ang Haywen, un trait unique et ma\u00eetris\u00e9 qui \u00e9pouse, dans un souffle, les \u00e9l\u00e9ments de la nature, que l\u2019artiste aimait tant d\u00e9couvrir \u00e0 travers ses tr\u00e8s nombreux voyages dans le monde. La r\u00e9trospective offre un parcours qui correspond aux grandes \u00e9tapes de sa carri\u00e8re, depuis son arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 Paris jusqu\u2019aux diptyques ou triptyques de petit format peints \u00e0 la fin de sa vie, expressions d\u2019un esprit tao\u00efste c\u00e9l\u00e9brant l\u2019harmonie qui unit l\u2019homme au monde.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1494 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/editions.grandpalaisrmn.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/article_14-04-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"963\" height=\"759\" srcset=\"https:\/\/editions.grandpalaisrmn.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/article_14-04-1.jpg 963w, https:\/\/editions.grandpalaisrmn.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/article_14-04-1-300x236.jpg 300w, https:\/\/editions.grandpalaisrmn.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/article_14-04-1-768x605.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 963px) 100vw, 963px\" \/><br \/>\n\u00ab\u00a0Le <a href=\"https:\/\/editions.grandpalaisrmn.fr\/fr\/editions\/EK198024\">catalogue d\u2019exposition<\/a>, que nous avons souhait\u00e9 confier \u00e0 votre maison d\u2019\u00e9dition, porte le m\u00eame enjeu que l\u2019exposition\u00a0: d\u00e9voiler, \u00e0 l\u2019occasion de la donation de l\u2019\u00c9tat au mus\u00e9e Guimet, l\u2019immense talent d\u2019un grand artiste franco-chinois trop m\u00e9connu. \u00c0 sa mort, en\u00a01991, les biens de T\u2019ang Haywen, qui n\u2019avait pas d\u2019h\u00e9ritier, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 confi\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9tat. Des ench\u00e8res ont dispers\u00e9 une partie du fonds, tandis qu\u2019une autre partie a \u00e9t\u00e9 attribu\u00e9e au mus\u00e9e par les services des Domaines. Je me souviens de ma surprise lorsque j\u2019ai d\u00e9couvert les \u0153uvres et de ma vive \u00e9motion lorsque je les ai s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9es.<br \/>\nLe catalogue a l\u2019ambition de pr\u00e9senter l\u2019artiste et son \u0153uvre, de fa\u00e7on simple et condens\u00e9e. Il les rend accessibles, par son prix et par un langage clair.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1492 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/editions.grandpalaisrmn.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/article_14-02-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"963\" height=\"759\" srcset=\"https:\/\/editions.grandpalaisrmn.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/article_14-02-1.jpg 963w, https:\/\/editions.grandpalaisrmn.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/article_14-02-1-300x236.jpg 300w, https:\/\/editions.grandpalaisrmn.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/article_14-02-1-768x605.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 963px) 100vw, 963px\" \/><br \/>\n\u00ab Nous avons d\u00e9termin\u00e9 que trois textes descriptifs, compl\u00e9mentaires entre eux, accompagneraient la s\u00e9lection d\u2019une cinquantaine d\u2019\u0153uvres embl\u00e9matiques. Il nous a sembl\u00e9 juste de donner tout d\u2019abord la parole \u00e0 Philippe Koutouzis, l\u2019ayant droit qui est aujourd\u2019hui charg\u00e9 de valoriser l\u2019\u0153uvre de T\u2019ang Haywen, selon le souhait du fr\u00e8re de l\u2019artiste, et qui pr\u00e9pare un catalogue raisonn\u00e9 de son \u0153uvre. Tr\u00e8s vite, il a propos\u00e9 de r\u00e9duire la place de son texte pour laisser une part majeure \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9criture, plus intime, de Jean-Paul Desroches, ami proche de l\u2019artiste et conservateur sinologue au mus\u00e9e Guimet. J\u2019appr\u00e9cie toujours beaucoup l\u2019attention que vos \u00e9ditions accordent au respect des couleurs des \u0153uvres. Je pense que la publication est \u00e0 l\u2019image de cet artiste si discret, si effac\u00e9, qui se tenait \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cart du monde artistique m\u00e9diatique.
